Ford Focus 2008 1.6 Titanium manual
« on: 06 November 2016, 09:38:07 »

Hope it is a battery - just loading my tools and starter boost to head off to my daughters. Car started lurching and transmission light came on and various other electrical oddities. did a bit of checking on line and seems could be dead cell in battery or alternator. Anybody come across anything like this??

Surely the AA/RAC would have been better able to point her in the right direction, Phil? They all carry batteries and are more than willing to sell you one.

RAC attended and checked everything as ok. Low charge in battery but they don't think it needs a new one. I suppose it has been used for short distances more recently. See how it goes - no warning lights on now. Tempted to change battery anyway.

Very much so; the first big temperature drop kills batteries. Same thing happens in the spring when it goes the other way
