Definitely cracked manifold, although ticking almost non existent after a few seconds idling. Possibly a slight blow from the flexi, but needs a visual check to be sure...

right, I have two quotes and they are both for £325.

including parts, labour and vat.

You can also weld it if you can get the casting hot enough. I have welded a manifold before for one of my other cars and we had to have it in a furnace for over half hour first to get it over 700 degrees, then weld it whilst putting it back in every 15 seconds or so and then leaving it to "cook" for another half hour before letting it cool gradually. Not the easiest thing to do.
