The car in the video isn't an old Merc. It doesn't have square or long oval shaped headlights.  ::)
Really old Mercs are probably the most mechanically bullet proof cars you can buy. They also tend to fend of tinworm until they are about 20 years old.

Actually what the car(s) in the video is, is indeed an old Mercedes. What they are not and most likely will never be are classics. The really old Mercs you talk about are classics. The video ones are just old Mercedes. ;D
.

Exactly that's all this topic was about old Mercedes, that's all I wanted to purchase an old Mercedes V8 but it had to be in reasonable condition , fortunately  I found one in outstanding condition probably  as close to I will ever get to owning a new one, but would I spend £50,000 + on a new one I don't think so. As for being a classic never in my lifetime but I never wanted a classic.😉

I'd quite fancy a W126 one day, as a Classic run about, but they appear super expensive  :(

Depends what you call old I suppose. To me, anything with the most recent type of registration plates (2001) is pretty new.  :D

Could have had a really nice one on the drive for what your Passat cost...
