Today chaps I took the plunge, bit the bullet etc and bought a set of 4 Michelin Sport Pilots @ Cost Co. I had intended to go for Goodyear Asymmetric 3 s. But they weren't on offer. I've noticed recently when I turn steering from lock to lock, the last part of travel when locking right, steering gets tight . On the locking left it's smooth the whole way only noticeable when stationary .  Now I intend to make an appointment with W.I.M Chesham.  Any thoughts greatly appreciated chaps good or bad

Only thoughts are that you need to get into WIM ASAP. If you leave t too long then there's a danger of starting abnormal wear on your new tyres.

Have you checked whether a bigger tyre is fouling something near full lock?

Generic suggestion : Make sure anti roll bar is centred in it's bushings.  (can't remember the exact design on the Omega; on some cars it can slide side to side if bushes are knackered)

I would start by jacking the front off the ground and, with engine off, wind the steering from lock to lock.

If that feels smooth and free of tight spots then suspect the power assistance. If it feels rough then look for something more basic.
