I've seen some fitted but its cost out ways the performance . you need to buy the kit and that costs a lot and then there is the turbo and then there is the adjustment to the ecu. not worth it really.

Easier to fit a whole turbo engine / ecu out of a Astra turbo  :y

Considering a hybrid approach to this very question... probably cost around £1500 all told in parts to end up with an Astra GSi powered car, depending on plumbing costs :-\

A running Astra turbo is a few hundred quid, which will give you the engine and ancillaries. There will be a load of stuff you won't use, which should recoup some of the purchase price.

Making new intake and exhaust pipes is labour intensive, but cheap in parts. It helps that there is plenty of room.

I consider the wiring to be the hard part, but it wont cost anything.

With some care, I don't see any reason why it should cost £1000 to get it drivable. 4 slightly stiffer springs and some new shocks would make for a nice fast road car.
