Oh...and by the way.......I found your laptop case in my garage yesterday. Let me know when you are in, and I'll drop it in to you (subject to remembering where you live) ;D

I look little older than a schoolboy in that photo, despite the fact I had changed about three or four cambelts that day.............

I call it exploitation.

To be fair, cambelt party aside, my main memories are being plied with very nice whisky by Hotel21, taking cold beers from TB's ice bucket, and leaning out of the car window to throw up on the way home  ;D ;D

It was only, like, 10 or so years ago  :-X ::)

I was in a mucking fuddle that night, but don't recall H21 making it down to Brakkers on that occasion....

Are you sure?

It may of course well be that, I was so pissed, I am confusing it with another night.

But I could have sworn it was on that occasion, wise old Broocie was bringing out the decent tipples...  :-\

Yup. First time I met Highlander was first Lakes meet...  ...this predated that.

Enough of all this man love - here are some grubby pictures of oily bits when my oil strainer got blocked and ended up destroying the bottom end.

Then I fished out all of the stuff blocking the strainer :

I think the o ring in the second picture is a cam cover bolt hole oil ring, but the dipstick O ring is a similar size. From this I'd guess that even if your O ring does end up in the sump, and gets sucked into the strainer it ain't gonna bung anything up on it's own. So relax, and once you feel better consider a precautionary strainer check.

Seeing that picture reminds me that I found a cam cover o ring in my sump a while ago. It'd probably been there for ages!  ;D

'twas my first cam belt party, I believe.

Memories include following MaxV6 home after extensive surgery to his estate, whereupon he discovered that his scuttle and windscreen wipers hadn't been refitted. ;D

Baked bean tins weren't made out of Tunnie's Senator back then. It was looking a bit crispy, mind. Brush and dustpan at the ready.

TheBoy's neighbour  :-* .. er..  ..is married to a large rugby player.

.. and yes, quite a few cam belts changed. ;D We banished the 4-potters to an "offsite facility" to get theirs done, mind. ;D

The sump on a BMW6, is massive and there's lots of stuff to remove before you can get it out. Little things like the subframe.
Unlike the Omega V6 where you undo a dozen(or so) small bolts and the sheet metal cover falls on the floor.

TheBoy's neighbour  :-* .. er..
Ah, yes, the lovely, if a bit shy, Claire :y

Mind you, the first neighbour here, the equally lovely Ros, scrubbed up nicely, and did insist on doing a strip tease very late one night when I had a bit of an open BBQ with some work mates  :-X
