My daughter complains that her foot brake is a bit slow to come on hard. I have tried it myself, and agree there is a slight delay. On hard braking it is fine, MOTs no problem, no excess travel. I have changed pads, no change. She lives with it, but having had several Omegas before she observes this one is not quite right.
Master cylinder cup? Servo?

Use new pads n disc's. Bleed system, also change flex hoses.

Have you checked the vacuum pipe and one way valve?

maybe the fluid has overheated at the caliper and needs bleeding

My 3.2 '51 plate is the same, I posted on here about it but can't find it now. I've done all the usual things, pads, discs bleeding etc., still the same.

Key things to check first are:

1) Front brake calliper sliders working ok and are free.
2) No excessive inner lip on front discs
3) Rear callipers have both pistons free to move
4) Brake pads free to slide/move in callipers
5) Brake fluid all ok

Perhaps a vacuum issue? I noticed a drop in braking when I busted the multi-rams.

It is possible to remove initial play from the pedal.

Need to remove the pin securing the pedal to the push rod, slacken the lock nut, wind the rod out a fraction retighten the lock nut, refit the pin and call it done

Thank you gentlemen, several good ideas there. At the moment the car is in Enfield, but it is due back in the autumn for its MOT and I will investigate them then.

I was not happy with my brakes. ..... but even Mark thought them OK though. On removal i found this

Not obvious with the caliper in place. New discs & they were sorted
