Apparently no-one here speaks Spanish, so it would seem that I brought the wrong phrase book... ::)

Not forgetting, of course, that there are about 15 different flavours of Northern.
I have heard evidence of Manchester, Leeds, Both halves of Geordieland, Scotch and Swedish... Oh and possibly some German ::)

Im Northern, from the proper northern parts of Lancashire...... not them namby pamby Yorkshire folks.... they only think they're northern....

Proper name is 'Lanky Dialect' :)

Theres an old recording available that was made by an old friend of my Dads called 'Lanky Spoken Here' by Dave Dutton, its also a book .... Very very funny, and proper speaking folks on it too....

I have no trouble understanding any dialect, including Geordie and Glaswegian. Well......maybe, sometimes, a rushed, Northern Irish one gets me...a bit.

Muy agradable también, buenas fiestas

In rural Andalucia , the old boys speak Andalus dialect with many unique words unintelligible to most folk including proper Spanish speakers. One key feature is that they do not pronounce the letter S . Big problem if your English name begins with an S! The funniest word is Wicky (whiskey)

surely you looked up 1 to 10 and the Spanish for beer before you left? Sangria and paella are Spanish words anyway, so that's a couple of weeks sorted
