Juddering Auto
« on: 02 May 2017, 22:26:59 »

Hi need a puzzle solving please, i've just changed the prop rear rubber (Doughnut). but my 53 reg 2.2 auto still judders when going backwards? seems ok if left for it to reverse naturally, but any throttle, then it judders. Thanks in advance.

Does it do it under any circumstances going forwards (light throttle high load etc?)

Have you checked the oil in the diff? (any noise droaning)
Whats the state of the diff bushes? (the diff twists the other way when it goes backwards)
There are 2 of those flex discs and a dodgy centre bearing

The pnp switch get filled with gunk, I had to clean mine out as it had a waxy substance inside,  which I think is a mixture of dielectric grease and A/C condesate.

Made all the lights come on but drive normally

Mine drives perfect forward or reverse normally but does have a slight noticeable vibration when I have a lot of weight in the boot. Not sure if this is a weight issue or angle of driveshaft issue.will be checking props shaft rubbers ,centre bearing and for any other looseness anywhere. Whatever you eventually find with yours I will check also ,and if I find anything that you may need to check I will report back here !
