So I've been trying to get my Omega to a really nice standard from a detailing point of view.

I'm not in to cleaning cars but I've been doing my best.

I really want to go and take him to the Vauxhall show which I believe has moved to Market Harborough for this year. Is anyone going?

Re the miscellaneous bits the interior has been cleaned and looks good. I've decluttered also which makes a big difference. But I want a nice shine on the interior and don't want to go spending shed loads on cleaning products. So will Mr Sheen work? I've also heard it's good to use in the engine bay?
Also my indicator repeaters are amber lenses. Was this how it was from factory as all others I've seen are clear with amber bulb. If so anyone got a part number for the clear lenses?
I'm borrowing a Karcher pressure washer to get the rust marks off the boot carpet (hopefully that will work).

Finally I contacted local Vauxhall about some door strap bushes as my front doors are making that awful cracking noise. "No mate, we only sell the whole door strap at £1 billion pounds". I said that's 'dangle berries'. I got the part number from the guide (from here...thanks TB). and called "no mate that doesn't come up"  ???
So rang a Vauxhall the next town on. Yeah no probs mate. 5 in stock. I'll send you two tomorrow. 81p each.
My local Vauxhall I also called for price on cam covers inc. gaskets and are charging a lot more than other Vauxhall dealers. I think they may just not like me  :-\

Hello Mr The Bear, how's things?

Well... in order...

1 Yes, it's moved to Market Harborough, which is great, as we've moved to the midlands recently, so it's about half an hour from us, yey, haha.

2 Good stuff, I've recently stopped using the dust to write messages/notes to myself in, and finally cleaned the interior up a bit :D

3 Mr Sheen, never used it, can't hurt. Personally use Autoglym, as it's the 'best in the business' to be honest, with some interior trim spray costing maybe a fiver, it's not much more expensive than the cheapest Wilkos/Tescos interior shine stuff. Also you can 'choose' your level of sheen, depending how long you leave it on for. From mild to hideous slimy wetlook.

4 Got some clear types here 'in stock' let me know and I'll bring them to 'Not Billing' and you can buy me a pint or whatever in exchange  :y They go for about a fiver/tenner a pair on here/ebay.

5 I'd say a good foam/lather built up with a suitable nail brush etc to try and penetrate the carpet then a blast with a pressure washer should do. Pressure washers are good, but there's no substitute for elbow grease, I find.

6 Yes, Stealers are clueless

7 Yes, Stealers have quoted me, one one occasion three different prices for one thing, for then have to pay a fourth price when I turned up!  :-\

Using Mr sheen is an old show trick,
1st clean dash etc ,(baby wipes) dry with micro-fibre cloth.

2 spray dash with Mr sheen, shut doors leave over night, should be all shiney in morning, then just buff up.

Under bonnet hoses n black stuff, spray liberally with back to black, or the devil's spray->>>      silicone lube

Hi Webby the Bear

The ugly cracking noise by moving the door comes not from the door mechanism. The two little plastic spacers are guilty, connecting the door mechanism to the a pillar. One Euro twenty Cent each at every Opel dealer in Germany.

Opel Lego parts, used in many models. Easy to get.

Suggestion young mr Webby.

Buy all the stock you can of crack of doom fixing kits. Then put them away. In twenty years time when Omegas are collectors items and VX stopped making the kits fifteen years ago mate, you will be sitting on a gold mine. I would do it but i am approaching my use by date.  ;D

Ps they work really well.

Worthwhile question. A pitch as a bone fide seller is £35, I think. But as you say, just flogging a few bits out your boot might fine, or might be perceived as trying to 'do' the organisers out of legitimate income. Would like to know how this would be viewed, too  :)
