Whilst i'm a tart as regards cleaning mine it's not too precious to get "driven" at times but i NEVER go into rev limiter or valve bounce territory. Getting close to the red here & there is fine in my book but change up...simple. Nothing to gain by taking a non race prepped engine into the red, the power's gone. Otherwise looked a decent meet, plenty of Carltons ( i know thier known as Omegas elsewhere)
I think the plates are Polish. :y

;D All those crash-zooms have made me distinctly queasy! :-[

.....I feel for those poor Miggys; thank goodness the rev-limiters are there to protect them from the worst of the Polish 'yoof`s' abuses. :(

When i was using the old redtop engines in Cavaliers i would visit the redline on a daily basis......after it had been warmed up properly.....
They loved it, get above 4 k and they would pull all the way round to the limiter.
I would change the oil every 3k on those as well, driven hard but looked after very well.....and god they would go....

My experience of the V6 is about the same, looked after it will take that sort of abuse, at this point i would like to say i don't do that to the CDX, autoboxes and high revs don't mix well  ;)

Indeed. I may be a boring old fart but my overriding feeling watching that lot was, what a bunch of idiots.

If you look at the other videos at the bottom after its run, there is one of a blue estate doing a drag start...  across two pedestrian crossings and a cross roads.  nuff said.

Yeh im a bit like that...

I hit the rev limiter once in the mig (had it locked in 1st, but didnt know there was a second or so delay when I put it back into Drive!) - It only hit it for a fraction of a second.

I know the rev limiter is there to stop engine damage, and SHOULD be set at a SAFE limit... but it still scares me!  ;D

Having said that, on every other car i've had, I hardly ever went above 5.5k... Its every few days in the omega now! I just think 'Well vauxhall designed the auto box to change at 6500 ish'  :) (never drive it had when cold though)
