Ljays MV6 MOT Day today
« on: 07 August 2008, 07:59:25 »

Fingers crossed, taking it in this afternoon.

Lucky catch with the dates....went to check old MOT ready to book it in, Ohh bugger, expires tomorrow, luckily my usual MOT place could fit it in :)

So heres hoping for a clean bill of health, certainly not expecting any problems.
Not bothered about advisories, they issue for the slightest thing, nice healthcheck really.

So she is suffering with PMT (Pre MOT Tension) today?

You know the suspension is OK - perhaps a little soft at the rear - its rust free, brakes pull it firmly in straight line, nothing out of ordinary found with tech2.

Should go through, as long as you've done all the basic checks as well

Suspension should be ok or it would have been noticed at WIM.

I assume you checked all the bulbs including the indicators (to make sure they are still yellow) and the number plate ones.

All bulbs checked - 2 new brake and 4 new indicators fitted, didnt think to check number plate lights.

Having fun directing one of the washer jets accurately though, cant see that being an issue (couldnt find my very thin wire)

as for the PMT - think you know the answer to that one  ;D

/me runs and hides

I have a friend who does my MOTs ::)

So did I, but he is too much hassle to use, plus lost faith in his skills after my water leak fiasco

The lad I use only does MOTs and no spanner work. Its a bit of a pain driving to Wrexham but so would being without the car if it failed. I suppose I should take it for its test locally after 11 months, which would give me a month to rectify any problems.

Always confused me that...

How can a recent failed test overrule last years pass?

To me if its tested and failed, thats it, old certificate now out of date  :-/

Only the most recent should stand
