Coming home
« on: 12 August 2008, 16:17:13 »

Well i have mentioned it in a few Posts, that my Family and i are returning to the UK after living in Germany for the last few years.

I just wanted to let all those know who are Interested, the reasons why.

1. the People are the best in the world. I know that when people come together there are always situations where "issues" happen but these are dealt in a better manor than in most European countries.

2. even though you all moan about the taxes it is still 20% LESS than i pay here in Germany.

3. The way you are treated in Germany if you have children is appalling

4. there is so much paperwork to be done in this country if you want to do something it always needs a lawyer to get things done.

5. the Germans always treat you like an outsider, i have a few mates, but the majority dont want anything to do with you

6.The pay is up to 40% more for the same jobs in the UK.

My wife has been nagging me to leave the country for the last few years, now the time has come.

I will be back from the 7th Sept.

So just a word, to all those who are thinking of leaving the UK think very good because if you still have to work for a living, then believe me it is best to stay in the UK.
I have been there got the t-Shirt.
 :y

Thanks for reading

The Germans dont like children running around having fun, its even worse when you start to play with them in a playground.
Its all shhh quite not so loud, or you cant do that.
It really pi**es me off when a grown man tries to tell me that i cant play football with my kids because we are too loud, or its afternoon silence time from 1 till 3pm
the Germans are unfortunatly very child unfriendly. >:( >:(

Firstly, welcome home. :y

Obviously things have changed out there somewhat. I spent a couple of years in the 70's when I was working on ships based in Hamburg and I really loved it out there. I had some great German friends and was treated with respect.

Oh well..... :-/

Bob, i think its the fact that everyone is so uptight with the taxes, they dont have any money any more the government have let everything escalate, all you hear all day on the news is the cost of living has gone up another 1.2%.
No one can afford to go on holiday the way they used to you cant even afford to go out to a Restaurant with the family any more because of the cost.
When the Germans decided to opt into the European monetry system and accept the Euro, they didnt know what they were letting themselves into.
Its as if they had halved the wages and doubled the prices.
Thats the reason why the People are starting to get scared they dont know when the spiral is going to stop.
Because of this situation everyone is unhappy they tend to keep themselves to themselves, no hello or "How are you today" those times are long gone.
When they find out that you are not a National then things get even worse, they tend to have a grudge about you earning and taking away the precious jobs that are very rare.
I worked my way up the ladder in the last 20 years, they do not like that, a foreigner telling them what to do, and then an "Englander" its not right.
Ok enough i will get my coat    ;) ;)

So Pay is 40% more but tax is 20% more, so i guess you are better off over all?

Put things in perspective i guess, interesting reading  :y

Not quite,

you Pay 20% LESS tax  (living and working in the uk)for an average wage of 32000 Pounds in the UK
and you are peyed more gross too, so you are winning all round.
