Mate had a brand new Merc SUV last year which kept cutting out. After numerous trips back and forward to the dealers they finally decided to replace it, with a price adjustment for his mileage on the original one of course. ::) Bit scary on country roads in the middle of the night when everything goes black. :o

Yep, sounds only too familiar. Shame some poor sod had to lose his life to make the bstrds take any action. >:(

So the UK didn`t get a recall until it was too late, but other countries did  ???
