VBOA is as last year at Market Harborough and I'll be going with the ABS,I think Keith will be along to bottom out the Billing question as there was a rumour that Billing had dropped a bollock and wanted the cars back there,so it looks like Webby might be right

 Vauxfest is being run totally independantly to the Market Harborough VBOA event. No connections between them. Later today, I will have full details of MH layout as we are having an ABS commitee meet with the layout plan now finalised

Won't you be at Market Harborough Webby? Weather dependant as much as anything else I'm hoping to get to MH this year[didn't make it last year]and hopefully get to the Billing one also.

Well when i spoke to VBOA they said it was affiliated clubs only. And I'm ashamed to say
my ABS membership ran out a while ago 😳

I take it Webby you're on about the MH show when you say it's for VBOA affiliated clubs? I've been in touch with Keith ABS to see if there's an area for "independants" to park as my ABS membership has lapsed also.He has advised me to contact LMF Vauxhall to clarify whether there is such an area.If there is no such area it'll be a shame,but on the other hand it'll save me a near 250ml round trip

Well, as Billing stuck two fingers up to the VBOA after they'd bucked what must be in the hundreds of thousands of £ over many, many years, it was very nearly the case that there'd be no annual VBOA meet were it not for some very hard work between the VBOA, clubs and LMF literally bankrolling the whole thing, in a very Dunkirk spirited way.

LMF and the VBOA have been entirely gracious and not said a word against Billing Aquadrome for this sudden 180 in regards of their attitudes to car club meets; I would not be quite so kind. But I totally respect them for being so professional about it and the situation. I will, however be 'boycotting' the 'Vauxfest'. It's sad, however that for donkeys years the VBOA Rally was, and is known simply as 'Billing' so there'll be a ton of people who will go to Billing without even knowing the story behind the move to Habrough (or even that the VBOA Meet has even moved to Market Habrough, and to them nothing will have changed, completely unaware of the politics that are behind the scenes. I don't want it to become a 'taking sides thing' however, imho, Billing don't deserve the revenue, that's all - not when there's the original event with the original team running it albeit on a different site.

Still unsure about going to this.On one hand I've spent a small fortune on it this year and could do with getting some use out of it for that reason.On the other hand it has not travelled more than 3mls in any one journey for about 3yrs so a 240ml round trip might be a bit risky as a first trial out!Having said that when I first bought it I travelled to Wellingborough to pick it up and cheerfully drove home without a second thought as to whether it would get me back home or not.So I'm still dithering between yes and no.

I'm with the ABS on that day attending the Classics on the Lake show in Bury St Edmunds.....always a good one to attend.

I went to this yesterday. Very small compared to the Vauxhall show. But still a fair turn out. Quite a few Carltons and one Lotus Carlton
