Why not all parts are made equal

One of the left is a Halfords part, one on the right is a genuine part. The one with the largest surface area will breath easier....

The pattern one I have just removed was even smaller  >:(

The Halfords one is no better or no worse than most other pattern ones.  Sad thing is, with TC, the genuine is approx same price.

Ignoring TC pricing, now you know why the Halfords one is cheaper than Vx.

Probably been "engineered" like that so it fits multiple models of car rather than perform adequately on one. Does show what corners the factors cut though. I wouldn't like to see the state of that after the rated service interval (40k IIRC?). :o
