on sunday i sold my mondeo 1.8 td est, it has been a reliable motor but always had my heart set on an omega,  when i went looking in 2000 they were just too costly. its amazing how you get attatched to a car but my missus swore she see a tear in my eye as it was driven away..............

I wasn't expecting it to be a rocket for obvious reasons but i couldn't live with 30 mpg from a diesel.... i get that from the V6 :-?

Used to have an Lreg Mondeo Si 2.0 was nice but i tell ya i then got my omega (not the current 1 2.5 Elite 96 Preg only 2 years old then with leather was lovely :o) this was back in 98 and i tell ya the amount of extra pull in the meega was so much better (of course)

Mondeo or Omega? Not a difficult choice. Has to be the Mondeo for me. Yah yah yah, I know I can here you all shouting at the screen, but the Mondeo is a better car. In fact it is so good, after 2 years of running it around, I sent ours back to South Africa, where it is now waiting my next visit. Something I definitely would not consider doing with an omega!

I remember weeping copious tears at the sale of a Wolsely 18/85S a (good) number of years ago.

Great 'Q' car passion waggon......

Magic wand gearlever from towards the front bulkhead, handbrake out the dashboard, all seats leather with front seats side by side (with no gaps between to get caught up in) and centre armrests (good grief, even the Omega Elite don't have them!)

Piece de Resistance was that the front seats, lacking in headrests that they were, folded flat and flush with the front of the rear seat squab and made a rather convenient double bed sized surface upon which one could indulge in ones 'courting'.

No need for a grubby Escort van with an old mattress in the rear!

(and the leather was wipe clean  :-[ )

 ;D

ahhhh, you cannot beat an estate for that, mines a 2.5 v6 est! would be a bit scared indulging on a leather seat though!!
