Blowout!!
« on: 03 December 2006, 23:20:01 »

Had a blowout at 70mph on the M74 last night....kicked my car sideways along both lanes for about 50 yards :-/ Once I got it stopped I changed the tyre in 5 mins flat ;D

Don't think any tyre fitter would repair it haha it got shredded to bits!! still had about 5mm of tread left too with no obvious puncture!

The impact broke the filament in my sidelight and the tyre rubbed a fair bit of paint off my bumper!  :'(

Keeps me on my toes!  :D

Had a couple of blowouts, both I suspect to underinflated tyres ::) (works vans). Both were shitty pants moments....

I had a blowout on my motorbike once. Unfortunately was going faster than the national sped limit at the time. Rear tyre went bang, back end came round to the front and I somehow managed to reduce speed to about 30 before I fell off into the hedge.

Nice!

Had a front go at 80 - got to the hard shoulder with no problems.

A bit hairy but the chassis are good!!!!

Had a front blow out on a bike - only the speed kept the tyre up wobbled to a stop after some corners, the spare was super slippery and had as much grip as the punctured Avon.

Also the rectifier & alternator were duff so I had to run total loss, and by the time my dad arrived it was getting dark - would not pull over 5000rpm by the time we got home due to no power.
