Sumat wrong with the video footage, it's all grey with a complete lack of colour  :o

I thought that and only spotted 3 or 4 foreign built cars.  ;)

Not many (any) BMW on show. Fritz was still smarting from the war, which had only ended 23 years before. :)

Sorry to contradict Opti but there's a Renault Dauphine heading away from the camera in the bit that shows the hitchhikers.Only saw one German[Merc SL 190?]but many-like my dad-at that time would still not buy a German car because of the war!As to what went wrong [mis]management lack of investment for new models bolshie unions/workforce.

Yep...you're right, Mr Baza. I think I caught a glimpse of a Saab 96 as well. :y

I've spotted the Merc, a VW Beetle, the Saab and Baza's Renault.  :y

The Saab makes two appearances with the guys on the tandem.  :)
