Just an opinion but it seems people are hell bent on gaining the next name...lord...barron..demi god....constant poster....

Maybe either simply not include welcome posts too there post number or just do away with titles.

Seems bizare that admin are having too get stressed over this.

As you guys have the stats that we don't ... is this a "star chase" across the board .. or just peeps trying to get to 250 so they can use the sales/wanted

If the latter then the 250 limit becomes pointless unless "welcome" posts are treated like "test" posts and don't count. Same treatment would also stop the "Star chase".

Absolutely no problems welcoming new members.   Just check the date lines and ensure you do not a) dredge up or b) sheepishly follow on a thread thats dustier than that Toot And Come In mummy person....

I don't often go in this section either, you can't tell from looking if it is new or old, till you open it. Look how many times peeps get caught out in General chat with a post that has been brought up from years ago, i know cos I did it once

Its not hard to scroll back the previous posts on any particular thread - to see the persons name, perchance? - and see WHEN they were posted surely?

I generally say hi to the newbies as they arrive. I think the complaint is the people playing catch up.

A suggestion was made tonight to make it a gain free area, all I can say to that is I am all for it.  Those that do it for will stop saying hi and those that dont will cary on
