I was expecting somebody to list it.......so now I will:

Starting handles

Remember those times you kept turning the engine over after getting a flat battery, or one that needed added human effort, to get the engine started. If it kicked back you could break your wrist.

You used it also to adjust things like the tappets.

Oh what horrible memories of doing that all in the rain or snow! :P :P

Last car we had with a starting handle was in 1986...

Those hugely long "whip" aerials that used to have the free end clipped to the rain gutter above the doors.

With a fox tail on the end..

 I've got a 9ft stainless 1/4 whip antenna in the garage,  never clipped it back.

Wow, that took me back a few years! In my short-trouser days, I used to go with my grandfather to the village to exchange his accumulater for a fully charged one: cost sixpence!
Of course, due to the arduous bus ride he had to refresh himself in the pub next door.....
