I guess many Omegas are scrapped now... The Dutch forum is already completely abandoned, with only 1656 left in The Netherlands last year, it becomes a rare item on the road (at least over here).

I still see 2 or 3 around where I live.

Shame as they are one of Vauxhalls better offerings and lets face it, now the French have the brand, it's not going to get better.

The last thing I want to do is make your head swell, but it was noticeable last week that your post count wasn't up to the usual levels, no doubt busy with other things, another whippet or racing pigeon per chance?  :D

It's thanks to you - ex-Omega owners that keep the forum alive with posts about anything but Omegas.

I'm here, but with my MV6 currently idle, I have no woes, or repairs to report. It's done 200 yards since March, when usually it would do 400 miles a week.
I can't even service it, because of the heart attack I had 3 weeks ago.

Pity you are not closer, my workshop is a bit quiet, and we'd be happy to service it for you at cost plus parts (which you could supply yourself)

There's a couple of other omegas in my town.

One in the car park behind some shops.  Not moved in 2 years. And one outside a 4 bed detached house in a good colour. 2.6 V6s That one is very well looked after.

I must ask hiim.if its for sale.

The whole Omega car scene has declined massively, despite being a great drivers car time has moved on, rust has crept in and fuel consumption (while never being it's strong point) is unacceptable when compared to other more modern offerings.

It's sad because they are possibly one the best cars i've driven based on work requirements dictating a comfy motorway car with plenty of boot space and the driver enjoyment of a half decent chassis.

I'm sure there will be a few well kept examples kicking around for a few years yet but they will be more enthusiast own cars, much like the Senator / Carlton scene.

The problem is, as always, what next if you want more of the same in a more modern, fuel efficient package... a question that everyone has a different answer for.

I very much doubt it. He was never a thin skinned sensitive soul.
I suspect he just arrived at the point where he decided it was time to go.
