The 3.2 error code refers to the main PC memory, not the SSD.

Most PC's have the memory in small memory sticks that can be unplugged and replaced. This might be a youTube video to help :

If unplugging and reseating the memory doesn't work then the next step is to replace the memory sticks with something similar or better. If that doesn't fix it then either the connector is faulty or the motherboard is kaput. Either probably means the machine is toast.

Data on the SSD can be salvaged by plugging it into another machine as a slave drive. You might even be able to use the drive as is in another machine as the primary - depends what OS and software you have installed and what kind of security/machine locking is used.

Thanks......finally sorted. Much appreciated.

HP wanted £400 to fix, so I told them they could go f*uck themselves.

After running no end of resets it is better than ever. :y

And before playing with the memory, or other exposed electronics, you need an ESP strap.  I'm sure many people will say that they are not necessary, and how they've got away with it...   ...they haven't, they just don't realise it.

If you have to do it without a strap, don't do it on any kind of carpeted flooring. Tiles, wood, lino all Ok. Better still, do it on the kitchen draining board - assuming it's a stainless one. This will be earthed assuming building regs have been followed. Just make sure the sink plug is in in-case any screws make a bid for freedom down the plug-hole  ::)
