Is the UK showing any favouritism towards Russia and China?  ???

China maybe, but that has recently cooled off rapidly for obvious reasons and I haven't seen any of our recent PM's getting pally with Putin, again for obvious reasons.  ::)

No but equally we weren’t showing any antagonism. Where were we when Rods2 rightly pointed out  the Russian aggression in East Europe?  Ten years ago “ pound shops “in Spain were owned by Moroccans . They have all retired and they are owned now by Chinese.
There's a lot of Chinese, they've got to live somewhere.

True. Every small town has three or four of these poundshops. Think supermarket sized original Wilkos. They sell everything except food. They do a good trade.

It will be interesting to see how trade with China develops in light of some of the new laws they are passing, particularly around data and the commercially sensitive information that companies will soon be required to disclose to the Chinese government.

I can foresee a cooling off of the rush into China, particularly from firms that have any military/government contracts in their operations.

Cheap eastern manufacturing is certainly here to stay, manufacturing in China, I'm less certain about.

Yes countries like Vietnam, the Philippines and particularly India must be salivating at the prospect at picking up extra inward investment from the West.  :)

Nope, we're a small town, and don't have a pound shop.  Thank God.

We do have an influx of Irish families though. You know, the sort who dont pay taxes or for any goods they want, and shit in the fields outside their homes.

Well....your uncle Boris is not giving in on the border issues, despite Biden making noises. So that's good...isn't it?  :-\

PS. Worse than France, are you sure?
