Must admit - I am wary of LPG now.

On a recent trip in my 3.0 I got over 32mpg - my 2.0 on LPG would only do 21. With LPG going up and petrol staying around the same, it's becoming less of an option

I am also considering leaving Omega ownership in favour of either a Veccy 2.2 DT Estate  :-X
What about an Omega 2.2DTi???

Would be rare in Estate form with good spec.
Plus I'm on a downer with Omega's, seem to spend more time working on it than I do driving it, ever since I got the thing.

Suppose it's all about finding a good one, always difficult trying to find low mileage diesels. We bought one of our DTi's with 55k on it a number of years ago, now, with 130k on it, apart from consumables as mentioned above (tyres, brakes, oil, filters + exhaust) it's only ever had one thing go wrong (egr valve) and has never left us by the side of the road.

Liked it so much we've got an '03 DTi Elite Estate with leather with 49k on it though...so they do exist  ;)

Your V6 is still a beauty mate, often think it would be nice to have a big V6 which suits the car much better. Still maintain there is no bigger, more comfortable, classier car for the money, despite your financial outlay  :y

Oh well at least you don't have to find £600 to £700 to get your car repaired. (forget insurance)

Excess 425
lost bonus year 1 360
lost bonus year 2 200

ect

tragically mate i am desperate to get rid, people are still seriously put off by the LPG kit not being 100% configured but its not easy to explain to people how the imperfect LPG setup doesnt effect the running of the car on petrol
A sorry tale of how LPG isn't such a good compromise, and how it isn't always as good as everyone keeps blatting on about. Sorry mate.

the majority of the time its a fantastic invesment, sadly in my case... it's not :(

still a fantastic petrol car though

I just can't believe how unlucky you've been Danny. Having fitted the, much rated, Motogas kit I can safely say it was the best thing I ever did. I'm only really about 5000 miles from being in profit, with a big motor and all the go of a V6 :y :y :y

I just hope you manage to get a good price for it when you do manage to sell it

tragically i wont, its a case of cutting my losses but its a lose-lose situation now, i have no choice but to lose money on it, (car owes me around £4000 since having the kit put on, 4 new tyres, exhaust :() but i cant seem to get the price right, if its a tad too dear, or even the right ballpark price, it doesnt get enough interest, if its cheap enough, people automatically get scared off!

i've had a lot of bad luck over the years in many a tiny insignificant situations, only a tiny amount of good fortune, but this car seemed to just be a really bad investment

the advert will expire in 11 days or so, at which point i will put it up for auction, with a reserve, and even if it doesnt meet reserve, i may just second-chance the closest bidder

i really want it to go to forum members though who are open to the help of resident experts who just might be able to get the LPG running properly or even strip it out nicely and use the car without, cos it runs so well on petrol

Danny. When I looked at your car the first thing that came to mind was 'Bet the cam cover gaskets would be a swine with all that pipework'. Now I know what it's all about, but it looks quite scary to a potential owner.
