50 years ago heating was something of a luxury. I can remember regularly having ice on the inside of my bedroom window. Single glazed. Didn’t do that generation much harm.

Have people gone soft or do they expect to walk around in shorts.

Winters were much colder.

No central heating so ice on the inside of the windows was common.

As a 5 or 6 year old I had a balaclava to keep warm........with two trails of frozen snot decorating my stiff upper lip.

But at least we had coal fires and paraffin heaters then (which we all huddled around)

Until we had to use the outside toilet!   Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
