Back on topic, thanks to the US test within a day policy, we have people turning up not having had a test 'because they are American' subsequently testing positive and then demanding to know why it is our fault that they then cannot fly. :-X

I'm currently wearing a mask if meeting with people who are not on peak health or who I know are still nervous about the whole thing. I tend not to in shops, but mostly I avoid going in Shops in the first place.

On the whole air travel thing, I'm currently sat in Frankfurt airport and it's as busy as I've ever seen it. Not sure if they've got fewer concourses open, but the bits of it I have seen are all rammed  :-\

A chap returning to Munich yesterday said it was chaos leaving there last week, and that it seemed to staff shortages causing the issues.

Certainly if you normally have ten X Ray machines running in security but only have staffing for three and one breaks, then you (temporarily) lose a third of your capacity when you're already unable to process 66% of the people you used to.

And yet you still get people turning up at -20 expecting to fly  :-X

Went to the vets this morning to make an appointment for doggie (reckon she might be diabetic.  😢 for the dog  😢😢😢 for my wallet) dutifully wearing a mask. Oh, we're not bothering with that any more, she says. Shall I start a fight, I thought. Nah.....11:30 tomorrow.

I wear one at each and every opportunity , have hand sanitizer in all the vehicles and look for and use it upon entering every shop or public building I go into.
My wife has been in the Stroke Recovery Ward for two months after suffering three devastating strokes and I will not, and cannot ,risk being a carrier .
The ward has been closed to visiting twice in the time she has been in Hospital resulting in all visits being cancelled , which is a particularly difficult thing to have to bear . This was most likely due to it being brought in by visitors , including possibly me .
It's still out there and I now know what the personal results of it being transmitted by those that don't care anymore are .
Desperately sorry to hear of this, I wish you both well.

Thank you .  :y

Sugar in wee, blood sample taken, not looking good. I had absolutely no idea how involved looking after a dog with diabetes is  :(

As long as it makes her feel better, then it's worth it  ;)

Hmm...not sure whether two jabs a day for the rest of her life will make her feel better, she will end up hating me.
Nor not having any treats, two meals a day twelve hours apart, limited exercise and regular visits to the vet.
My wallet hurts just thinking about it.

We feed ours twice a day...

Forth glade, either half a 400g tray or one 150g tub each meal. Literally two or three Forth glade snacks for lunch (obviously not an option), and she's a steady 9.7-10kgs.

As for exercise, she gets what she needs, but is just as happy to sleep 20 hours a day  ;D

Our previous Tibetan Terrorist had to be washed daily for nearly two years due to a stress reaction making her fur fall out.

You adapt the day as required and they will adjust to the new routine.

So, it turns out I brought an unwanted souvenir back with me from Vancouver, two lines on my lateral flow test yesterday  ::). I was tested negative (PCR) getting off the boat in Vancouver on Sunday morning, so not sure exactly when/where I picked it up.  Definite mixed emotions for me on this one. On the one hand I'm glad I'm not stuck in Canada paying for some enforced isolation time and a new flight home; but on the other hand I will undoubtedly have passed it to someone (or several someones) unwittingly on my way home  :-\

At least when you bring a dose of the clap home you can guess where you got it, and you certainly know who you've passed it on to.  ;D

Ah, the clap clinic. ::)

As late teenagers we found it quite amusing I seem to remember.

There would usually be two or three of us going at the same time.
