To look after my emotional wellbeing, I would have to stay in bed where I am, never turn the telly on, open a newspaper or look at my iPad. Turn off my mobile, unplug my home phone and stick cotton wool in my ears

That's why I don't have the flu jab.

Mum was rough for a week after hers. Can only think that there might be a reaction to the TCV jabs... Was fine after the first two (AZ) , but the booster (Pfizer) was pretty horrible, not helped by catching TCV on top of it. Fortunately that only lasted a few days.

Have either of you tested for TCV

Two Chinese sniffle jabs but have declined the third as they don't seem to do much, and some people have become ill.

Way too young for a flu jab but I wouldn't bother anyway.

It's flu, nowt to do with the flu jab. And I've had four coronavirus jabs, and would accept a fifth. This is why the flu jab is pot luck:

Just a thought like.... but given that Mrs STEMO is a Schoolmistress, you haven't picked up this Strep A bug that's going round? 

Adults can catch it too, so maybe Mrs S brought it home. Starts with a sore throat as well...

Listening to the car radio a few minutes ago and there was a fellow on their who had it & he mentioned that the sore throat was almost unbearable , so might be a very good point.

Maybe you have the same respiratory illness that is pandemic here in  Spain. The hospitals are chocker. The amount of Covid is quite low. A good friend got it and pegged after a week. He was 90 but without it he would still be here.

I really don't know what flavour of infection I've got, I just know it's a nasty bastard. I'm a bit blasè when it comes to my health, we all think we're hard and can't understand all the fuss over a bit of a cold. But the world is changing rapidly, and all kinds of nasties are waiting to pounce. There's not much we can do to stop it, except hand washing and the like I guess.
