Fault code 38 (lambda) now disappeared. Fault found and fixed - confirmed by a 100+ mile trip today, where no codes were logged and no EML coming on  :y

Got a bit excited then -- thought it might have been Danny's lpg that was fixed

Sensor?? or another buggered wire ::)

It wasn't the sensor - confirmed by swapping them, and not getting a fault on the passenger bank :y

Have a guess - it was extremely simple in the end (thank god!)

Got fed up of thinking about it, so I went under there and laid in the piddling rain and dark, with a torch between my teeth and tested the wiring....

Was worth a soaking for the result, though ;D
