So if I bought a 3.0 what would the mpg be like?
Depends how you drive it, but mine does about 27. That's about 50/50 mix of the crawl to work and longer journeys.

I think the best I had was 32 on a journey to Birmingham. Driving like a Nun  ;)

my 3.2 only gives 5.8 km to the litre but fortunately fuel is cheap here. I rarely put my foot down either, too scared  ;D But this is with the A/C on. Full tank gives me about 330kms.

Having said that I would be happy with a 2litre. Big deal if it is slightly sluggish, I'm not trying to outrace anyone.

Around town between 17-20, motorway cruising high 20`s to low 30`s averaging about 25 over a full tank. Insurance group 16

2.5 drinks similiar to 2.0 .. If I were you I would prefer 2.5 manual..

Driven sensibly will give good mpg..And is not slow even with auto..

I ran 2.0s for about 4 years, not bad cars at all, a bit sluggish but not slow.

Yes I had a 2.5 and it was great apart from the head gasket thing!

and forgot to add :

buying from a known member in OOF is a better idea..

As the histories are known and will keep you away from spending

unnecessary cash..Or at least check the car with the OOFers..

Done this morning, average speed and mpg .  Cruise set at 75mph (actual 70 on computer)  weather was patchy fog but visibility was good, roads empty, never dropped below cruise control setting and speeds of up to  ::) ::)

So 30+ MPG  is easy.  had I have just driven on cruise then approx 34/36 I reckon.  that was over say approx a 60 mile run. :y

Cars a 3.0 Elite :y

IMHO 2.0ltr ok but I would look for the manual box. With autobox tend to use "sport" option unless you like a leisurely drive ;D

Fully agree, we have had both, manual fine, auto - use sport, mostly.
Our Manual was very reliable, we had it for years. :y

I would give a wide birth to 2 litre Omega's if I was you.
They are heavy on petrol (auto) and their performance is glacial.
Too much weight too little power................2.6 manual is a good choice. :y :y :y
