Dunkirk - Wine & Beer Warehouses?
« on: 14 September 2008, 15:21:15 »

There are loads of warehouses around Calais, but having trouble finding some in and around Dunkirk.

Anyone know of any?

I'd go the extra 20 mins into Belgium and Adinkerke...Signs for "Belgique" and the Adinkerke signs are about 200 yards apart.

Left off the motorway, left at the first island, then take your pick - about 30-40 shops down that one road.  Not so many after the petrol station on the left..

Sort of... http://www.day-tripper.net/

Adinkerke is more known for its tobacco and chocolate shopping, but there are wine bargains to be had.  Not so much choice as in France, but think there's some links to wine shops in Dunquerkque as well on there.

Thanks.

I went to Wine & Beer world in Calais last year, that had a good selection.

Think i might do Dover - Dunkirk on the way to holland, and Calais to Dover on the way back, and stock up.

I want some desperadoes beer too :)

I discovered 2 nice Belgian beers over the bank holiday, Orval and Affligem.  Liked them so much I brought the glasses back.  I even paid for one of them.  ::)

As said - Belguim is the one.
Maria and I are off there in November, among other places :y

Have a drive around Calais, loads of places to get booze. Don't do what I did though, get on the A26 motorway, towards Paris, and not be able to turn back for quite some time (and also having to pay the Toll!)

There certainly used to be a hypermarket in Dunkirk - I have even got a trolley token for it somewhere ;D
