Insurance - Trade/Motor/Business
« on: 15 March 2025, 14:15:43 »

Running through some ideas and considering different options.  Maybe looking for Trade Insurance in the future so thought it worth pricing up in advance.

Not sure if any members have trade cover but wondering if any companies outshine other or if they all just as bad as domestic policies with all the small print etc.

Will be for 2 people any car etc, but a least 1 named vehicle.

Off to see if there are any comparison sites.   :y

Its a minefield thats best avoided unless you are a genuine trader, selling quite a lot of cars in a given year.  ;)

Not wanting it for selling cars,  But more similar to maybe a courier service,   As I am looking for business Insurance rather than a domestic car policy.  As you say its a mine field and it's knowing what to define what I require and then what questions to ask.

Tried a comparison site then realized it was just collecting data rather than show prices like the popular sites. Although it did show me a site with prices from £234

No rush, will try again later. :y

Trade policies tend to insure the cars at a basic level for sitting around, and only fully cover the vehicle that's being driven.

What it sounds like you're after is a fleet type policy.

We used to use PJ Weller to broker our taxi fleet, and could add/rove extra vehicles with relative ease. Just be aware that flexibility comes at a price.

Well quite impressed with the 1st call back. :y

Basically got  call from the company, not sure if it was the one given above, but it's a sister company with Adrian Flux.

£340 quoted for 10K business miles and 2K private.   ::)

No limit on goods in transit.  That bit seemed as they usually find a way to milk the quote.

Still looking. :y
