« on: 31 March 2025, 17:12:05 »

Fuel pump works but only when cranking, its so quite! Thought it might start but no sparks, now should the fuel pump prime when ign turned on for a few secs? Will put my Snap On scanner on it to see if any codes Wed.
Also turned over for ages and oil light still on, any trick for priming system?

The other purple relay controls the injector power. No power, no injection.

Think thats working as could smell fuel in that case ECU would be working? I thought the fuel pump should prime like most systems for a bit when you turn ign on?

Okay now have sparks, found the plug had got knocked out of coilpack. Still not starting so D sprayed some ether in and BRUMM, BRUMM for  a few secs . Slacked the fuel line of and no fuel ,I had checked a plug and it was dry.
So I need to know if the fuel pump should prime when ignition turned on for a few secs?

Fuel pump should only run when key is turned to pos.2 to prime the fuel rail and once it's running.

If the pump is running during cranking something is wrong.

Is it possible that you've swapped the injector and fuel pump wiring?

Injectors fire whenever the engine is rotating as long as the crank and cam sensor signals align.

That would produce fuel but not the running as the supply and release is backwards.

Forcing it to run using Ether does not, in any way constitute normal operation. And it will hate you for it.

There are two purple relays.

One for injectors
One for fuel pump.

All the green relays are for cooling fan control and one under the dash for fuel. No one here ever said anything about green relays
