« on: 16 April 2025, 01:07:15 »

Hello everyone ;) Maybe someone has the STL file (3d model) door card handle for Omega B?

Presumably you want a Pre Face lift one? And the cover trim or the whole assembly?

In which case, isn't the Astra F handle the same?

Is it the same as the rear door one for scanning purposes?

No, I don't know English very well, so I might not be understood. I meant the handrails, the inserts you hold on to when you drive in a car. We also call them "bananas".

I need a ready-made 3D model (STL file) in order to print them. I don't have the option to scan it. I don't know how to create 3D models myself.

The handles above the door ("grab handles") or the handle on the actual door that you pull on to close it (these vary between earlier and later Omega-B variants)

That said, I doubt anybody here would have a STL, although reasonably easy to create with the right measurements, but it's unlikely to be strong enough given the nature of FDM printing.

I think he talks about the grab handle because it's shaped like a banana on the pre-facelift. I have the same issue as I needed to remove the door cards, I had to remove this banana handle to reach one screw, and it disintegrated into pieces (sort of flexible rubber that becomes sticky and looses its flexibility over the years).

The shape of this part is very difficult to replicate in 3D because it's an "organic" shape without real reference faces. It's like a thick rubber skin that goes around the plastic handle clipped in the door card. I know there is one person on Instagram that sells them new but I don't know if it's 3D printed or old stock.

Keep us posted how you get on  :y

I was after the front drivers side (RH) Banana in black (rear ones unfortunately are a different part number and fit - I tried the rear in the front and slightly different shape  :( )

Managed to to find a genuine one from Germany - was the wrong colour but researched interior trim paint and it now matt black matching the rest  :y :y and looking back to original again.

Good luck,

As some one mentioned on an earlier reply, would a 3D printed one be man enough for the job over the long term?  :-\

The printed part turns out to be more wear-resistant than those currently on sale and it is cheaper to print than to buy others in good condition.

On the PFL, it's an insert, with the strength of the handle in another moulding, so a 3D one might work for that, but I suspect the OP will have to design it themselves, as I very much doubt anyone has done an STL or other model file.

There is a person who has an STL file, but he wants for his money and not a little, you can buy a set of door cards with these "bananas" for this price. And I want to try to print these "bananas" myself.

Ah, the crux of the issue...

You want the file but aren't prepared to pay for someone to have put the time and effort into making it.

Sounds like you have three choices...

1. Pay up.
2. Buy another set of door cards.
3. Learn how to do it yourself.

There's a fourth option, but as you asked the question, not doing it isn't on the table.

It's not that I'm willing to pay or not, but that the person wanted a lot of money for this file. Very much...

I guess that's subjective. But if you took the time, effort and knowledge to create it, what value would you place on such a thing?
