Looks like she's about as competent in her home finances as she was in office. Being a minister is hardly a "job for life", so it takes a special kind of stupid to make yourself reliant on every penny of a ministerial salary. I'm surprised a lender took that risk on, to be honest.

She'll write a book or two, and get good money for an after dinner speech or two.

She won't end up piss poor.

Looks like Darzett Tigger has already covered this. 

If she loses her seat at the next election she'll probably end up in the Lords as Baroness Rayner of Hove! 

Although as I understand it, one of the reasons she bought the flat in Hove in the first place, is that she is likely to lose her Ashton-under-Lyne seat to Reform at the next election, so she was going to stand in a safe seat in the Brighton and Hove area. 

One thing I'm sure of is that we haven't seen the last of our Ange, she'll bounce back just like all the slimeball politicians tend to do.

So the news says she has underpaid by £40,000

According to Right move a £800,00 house attracts a £30,000 stamp duty bill

So what have I missed here.

Before I saw anything on the news some one told be she had bought/paid £6M for a property thinking it may be for this flat.

So if the underpay was £40k then what did she actually pay?

She will almost certainly get a huge payout for stepping down, as Politicians usually do for unfathomable reasons.
I imagine a deal was done behind the scenes, whereby she agreed to resign to save Starmer having to be the villain and sack her. The enquiry finds she did wrong but it was an honest mistake and not corrupt.
This then leaves the way clear for her to climb back up the greasy pole once the dust has settled.
Its not just her who is corrupt. Its the whole system that stinks to high heaven.

It does, assuming that you haven’t got another family home, or a vested interest in, in Greater Manchester or anywhere else. A home part sold to a trust with a seriously inflated price tag apparently. 
I read a comment about her replacement which read “If brains were taxed, he’d be due a massive rebate”.
