NCDC 2013 Time/Date not updating
« on: Yesterday at 15:17:19 »

Afternoon all,

My NCDC 2013 wont store the date, I've managed to get the time roughly correct, however the date still thinks its some date in 2006.

I've read elsewhere its an issue with the NCDC unit itself rather than the colour display.

I have tried to see if there is a way of telling it the date in "My Naff Code Reader", however no such luck.

Anyone know of a way to correct this?

So its not updating the date manually (same place you change the time)?

I've seen oddities on the NCDC/NCDR where the flash is corrupt.  Refreshing the firmware can resolve it most of the time in my experience.

Yes, you change it manually, but when you store the time and date you want, its clicks back to something/something/2006.

How can i refresh the firmware?

Does it not sort itself out if you stick it on Radio 2 :-\

One of mine is the same. I just set the time right and left the date.

Mine doesnt automatically change when the clocks go back / forward, even if I put up with radio 2 ,so I just do it manually.
It also reverts to 2006 if I disconnect the battery.
I just assume its over 20 years old and isnt going to be perfect.

Want to try a firmware flash, next time you're passing, see if it resolves it?

Give me plenty of notice, as chrisgixer has my Tech2 I think. Either that, or I've put it somewhere safe, lol.

I am a fair bit closer to OOF HQ having moved last year, but.... MOT runs out on the black Omega end of this month and unless someone wants it (and wants to plate and weld up an inner wing and a few other jobs) it'll be cubed most likely  :-\  Mind you, I still have the ornament one as well - but that'd involve fitting a battery and seeing what the NCDC does in that!

Another Omega bites the dust.  Surely each one converted to Beanz tinz makes the remaining ones more valuable....    ...cue STEMO for his obvious comment ;D

Surely its a shame to scrap it for the want of a bit of welding !  :(
Just did a fair bit of welding on mine and it was only a few hours work, even for an old bloke like me
Im not much of a welder, but its not difficult to learn how to make something solid and presentable if you spend a few hundred quid on a welder.
Or if you dont fancy that, a local garage or company probably wont charge a fortune to do it.  :y
Imo, they are well worth saving now and becoming a bit collectable.
I had someone knock on my door a couple of weeks ago asking if I would sell mine.
Irish bloke of course.  ;D
