If I had something to hide and I noticed a police car behind me. The last thing I would do is draw attention to myself is raise the rear blind!! :-?

So stopped you to find out.    

As long as everyone was polite and pleasant to each other, dont see the problem, to be honest...  :-/

he doesnt want them to see how the suns reflection from their car dazzles his vision making it dangerous to drive, therefore the blind is used as a safety measure

And if that was explained properly then there should not have been a problem, either real or perceived, by either party.

But place yourself in the unmarked car behind......  The pair of punters in the car in front are taking some kind of steps to hide.  Disguise themselves in their vehicle by putting up a blind?  Sun?  Not bothering me, as its not shining in MY eyes....   :-/

Lets give them a wee tug and see what else pops up...  

Some call it using experience and initiative, provided that the policing experience is applied fairly, politely and without any preferential or otherwise demeanor....  Others call it oppression....

C'mon  ..... let's not get on that band waggon! Regardless of red tape etc you don't always even get the phone answered when you phone your local neighbourhood nick, let alone get a nicked car recovered.

If people really had things to hide while in their cars, a rear blind is the least likely thing to use, all the rear windows would be 'limo black' so you could see bu66er all in the car.

Andy - agree with the phone call bit, but don't knock the street smarts of the cops involved.  They decided to stop the potentially suss car in front of them and happily find that it was someone real and decent going about their legal business, so no probs.....  You would be surprised ( and I mean that most seriously ) at what has been turned out of stops based on very little more than coppers nouse....

As I've never been close to being in that position I believe you, also SWMBO seems to watch all the Police Camera Action  etc etc for us to get an idea of what you mean.
