OK, I've registered on opieoils.co.uk as a member of the Omega Owners Forum (OOF) and have done a search on my car: Standard Omega Elite 3.2 24v V6 Automatic 2001 'Y' plate.
I'm just about to do full service and need:
- Engine oil + filter
- ATF fluid (full replace + flush x3 volumes required)
- Brake fluid
- Coolant (? Do you do this?)
I'd like the best available and have a few questions:
Engine Oil + FilterYour site recommends the Oil and Filter Service Pack VXSP15309B - 6 litres of Fuchs Titan Supersyn 5w-40 and 1 Purolator Oil, but is the more expensive "Silkolene PRO S 5W-40 Ester Synthetic Oil For High Performance Engines" any better or even worth it?
Which of the following is best? (Filter required, best recommendations appreciated)
- Fuchs TITAN SUPERSYN 5W-40 High Performance, Fully Synthetic, Engine Oil
- Mobil Synt S 5W-40 Superior performance synthetic engine oil
- Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 Gasoline and Diesel engine oil 100% Synthetic
- REDLINE High Performance Synthetic Motor Oil 5w-40
- Amsoil Synthetic Engine Oil (AFL) 5w-40 European Formula
- Silkolene PRO S 5W-40 Ester Synthetic Oil For High Performance Engines
ATFBearing in mind I plan to drain (50% is the most you can drain at any one time) then top up, run for 500 miles, drain & top up, repeat 1 last 3rd time to flush the auto-box sytem through and I'm guessing that what's in there now is the standard GM ATF, which of the folowing 5 from your site would you recommend?
- Amsoil Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid ATF
- Castrol TQ DIII Automatic Transmission Fluid meeting Dexron III
- Fuchs TITAN ATF 3353 Automatic Transmission Fluid
- Motul DEXRON III Fluid for automatic gearboxes, Power steering systems
- REDLINE D4 Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid
Final Drive oilIs this worth doing, and, if so, which is better? (My car is standard which is not LSD as far as I know)
- Silkolene BOA 90 LS High Performance Gear And Limited Slip Differential Oil
- Motul 90 PA Lubricant limited slip differential (LSD) Extreme pressure
Brake FluidAgain this is a full change; which one do you recommend?
- Castrol Response Dot 4 Synthetic Brake Fluid
- MOTUL DOT 4 BRAKE FLUID 100% synthetic fluid for hydraulic actuated-brake and clutch systems DOT 4
- Silkolene DOT 4 Universal Brake & Clutch Fluid
How does the price of your (OOF discounted) Opie Oils stuff compare to VX standard oils if you have a VX trade card?
Sorry for all the questions, and thanks in advance.
