Any vegetarians on?
« on: 08 October 2008, 11:44:10 »

Just curious - how come every restaurant has a "vegetarian" option yet go to a vegetarian restaurant and demand to see the "meat" option and they turf you out!!!?

My sister is a vegetarian and I will happily make her vegetarian food when she comes to visit.

Will she offer to cook me meat when I visit her..............no way.
Will she allow me to eat my own meat in her house.........no way.
Will she let me put any meat in her fridge.............no way.

Funny thing is ..when she eats vegetarian at my house then so do I..............she makes me feel guilty. :y :y

Our appendix is well too small, our stomach is too small, we cannot manufacture certain vitamins, we can be poisoned easily.

On the otherside we have too long a digestive system for a pure carnivore, and cannot handle a 100% meat diet.

We are true omnivores

My wife is a vegetarian, and so is my younger son and my son-in-law (although they both eat fish).  My daughter used to be veggie, as did my older son, although he gave up.  My daughter says she's not a veggie now, but she doesn't eat meat(!?).  My wife will cook meat and fish but won't eat them.  My daughter-in-law, like myself, is sane and has never considered a vegetarian regime. :)

Used to know a Vegan - my word, she looked unhealthy.

The worst thing is going on holiday to any of the countries that know how to cook - France or Italy for instance.  We have to walk past a dozen absolutely fantastic looking restaurants until we find some dingy shack that offers a vegetarian option. :(

I knew a Vegan some years ago. He looked really unhealthy. I've seen more flesh on a starving African & that's no lie. He actually looked like a concentration camp Jew.
Everythings ok in moderation :y

My daughter became a veggie at 8 years old (18 years ago) when she found out where meat came from. she hasnt touched meat since.
Although I think it is illogical,I do respect the fact that she has stuck to it.

Imo the biggest flaw in the logic is the fact that, if we didnt farm the animals for eating then they wouldnt have been born in the first place.
