James May
« on: 12 October 2008, 22:09:56 »

Just been watching his BBC2 program and he mantioned the Odeon in Rotherham in 1974.  This was 1 of 2 Cinema's at the time in the town.

Just been on Wikipedia and found out he spent his teenage years in the area and went to Oakwood School.

Clarckson himself comes from Tickhill and was a reporter for the Rotherham Advertiser.

Just been thinking, James May is nicknamed captain slow.

He has had the Buggati Veyron to 252 mph

Hamster drove the Vampire Dragster at over 300 Mph

Does that not actually make Jeremy Clarkson Captain Slow.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I knew Clarkson was from where roses are white instead of red. When he was on 'Who Do You Think You Are?' ... to do with Kilner jars, it was one of the rare occasions I've ever heard 'im talk wi' a reet proper Northern Yarkshire accent.  ;)  ;) :y :y

When my little Bro passed his test I let him drive my Sylvia Turbo home down the Motorway, the litle bugger kept inching it up and said he wanted to do 100Mph, reluctanly I let him, that was fooking scary.  Had my Mum in the back, when we all all to my Mums and got out of the car the truth came out and all admitted it was a tight cheek moment. :-/

another little known clarkson fact that wasnt mentioned on that show is the origins of the clarkson family wealth: his mother owns the rights to paddington bear. minted. (or at least she did til 1995 when she sold 'em...)
