First time round I bought 4 Contis at £150 per corner. I was impressed with the tyre, though not with the price... they lasted a long time though.

Second time a round I bought 4 Michelin for £120 each. Sadly I sold the car shortly afterwards with the 4 new Michelins.

For my new car I got Dunlop FastResponse from blackcircle.co.uk for around £70 each. Good price, good service, and decent tyres (came highly rated on the German ADAK website).

However, price being equal, my money would be on the Contis.

Hope this helps.

You were ripped off on the Contis!

Couple of things I would like to add.

Mileage's for a set of tyre's will vary between members as the driving habbits will also be different.  (Lets face it, you dont buy the MV6 version if tou want the encomy and performance of a 2.2 tractor)

Also I have noticed I dont drive the Auto's as hard as I would do with a manual, whether it's just me I dont know.

Of the 2 cars I have the 2.5 has ZV3's all round and purchaed by me, but the car has only done 6000 miles in 2 years.  Gets driven hard on occasions, can easily provoke wheel spin from a bend with the right buttons pushed, but not as yet had them break contact with the road under harsh driving in the wet or dry (Harsh but not reackless driving)

The 3.0 Elite has 2 different pairs fitted by previous owner (Makes unknown at this point)  But I expect the tyres to last a lot longer  as I drive the car completly different to the other. (Maybe it's coz the exhaust doesnt sound like an F1 car on full throttle like the other one.  ;D ;D ;D)(and I dont use the Sport Mode as often ::) ::))

When I do replace tyres, I allways fit them in pairs and allways put them on the rear, moving old tyres to the front, if there is any odd wear on the fronts I allways put the rear with the least tread to replace it, till the tracking gets done.

I know....  :'(

That was some years ago now, one of my front tyres was down to the canvas on the inside (that as before WIM's time...), and I felt compelled to change tyres there and then. The culprit was the local National outlet near where I live. What is even more annoying was that the price supposedly included a '10% discount' because I bought 4 tyres...  >:( Still, it was before the days when tyres where available online, so comparing prices was difficult and time=-consuming.

I have noted some unfavourable comment about the Avon ZZ3's as I in fact have recently had put on.

Although I obviously have not been able to undertake any real mileage on them yet, all I can say is I used Avon tyres of my company and private cars (as Rolls Royce and Bentley did at least then) getting regularly 30K+ per set. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)  .........and I didn't exactly travel at slow speeds in those days, beit motorway,  'A' road or country road! :D ;)  So my tyres were well tested, and I found Avons superior to Michellins which the company were quite happy for me to buy instead! 8-) 8-)

I will of course now monitor my latest purchase and see how the Avon ZZ3's last ;)

Put some on the front of my miggy on a previous drift event in the rain.

The place was soaked, standing water everywere.........had to be extreeeeeeeeemly viscous to get the buggers to slide in unison with the rears.

I know I can't argue with that, so take it from me.....good choice :y
Lasted well to, like you said 8-)

From the moment I picked up your book until I laid it down, I was convulsed with laughter. Some day I intend reading it.

Makes you wonder how TheBoy only gets 4K from a set of Avons driving a TRACTOR ::) ::)  and his MV6 bending all the rims ::) ::) ::) ::)

In Switzerland the choice (my own) seems to go between Kuhmo, Hankook or Fulda if considering value for money as main factor. Pirelli P7 looks to be top tire but still much cheaper than mich/bridgestone/conti etc. It has received top reviews in number of tests. Am not particularly happy with michelins i have right now - certanly not worth the money

It reminds me of Marshals I had on a Renault 19 some years ago. I was looking forward to the day when they would be shot
