Stupid question for a PC literate guy (...bug?) like you Skruntie but have you played around with the jumpers on the discs?
Been a long time sine I have slaved a disc, but IIRC jumpers for both Master and Slave prevented the slave from being seen by Windows. One of the two discs needed NO jumper.
Slave then needed mounting in Windows.
I understand where you are coming from. But nothing has been altered.
IDE 0 has a 200GB boot drive on it with 4 partitions. Has run this way for over a year, about a month ago formated the C: partition and reinstalled windows to get rid of all the cluuter.
IDE1 has a Pioneer 110 on it, neither of the IDE drives have had the jumpers altered since they were first fitted.
All other drives have been added by one of the 4 Sata 2 connections.
Problems started Saturday night when the CPU temp went OOT and the Board didnt shut dowm. All ok now with new fan fitted etc.
Tried to move Data from an IDE partition to a Sata drive, the computer just locked. Happened 3 or 4 times.
Changed all IDE and Sata Cables, problem not solved.
Changed the Sata Slave drive, no joy.
Took out the IDE and Fitted a Sata Boot Drive with a freash install of Windows on.
I can transfer from Partition to Partition on this drive.
But Still Cannot Move Data from Prhyical Drive to Physical Drive.
Data reads ok as far as I know.
Unless I have damaged something then all I can think of the board is on it's way out
