What should I look for in an Engine stand?

Ideally to do a bit of a refreshing rebuild on a V6 while out of the car? ie.

Headgaskets
Oil Cooler
Breathers
Oil Pickup
Oil Pump
Crank Seals
Other seals...

Never bought a stand before, so not sure what would be best!

I've used one of these: http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/ces-500a-engine-stand/path/workshop-cranes-engine-stands.

Coped OK with a Rover V8 and a Ford Zetec. I guess a V6 may be a little heavier but I'd say it would be OK. If you get the engine balanced around the central spindle (grease it while you're assembling it) it's easy to turn it over to work on the bottom of the crankcase, then back the right way up again.

Totally agree with Kevin.

Once bolted up you can rotate the engine to work easily from either side, top or bottom to suit how you dhoose to work.  :y

that's exactly the one i have currently....can handle a V6 no problem  :y

All I need to do now then is also find somewhere to strip down 2 Omega's and work on an Engine  ;D

Already got access to an engine hoist/lift, so thats not an issue :)  Suppose I could try the council/local farmers, see if there is any space I can 'rent'
