I signed on for the first time in my life when I was made redundant in September, I've been receiving Job Seekers Allowance at the rate of £60.50p a week. I have got off my ar*e and found a job but I can't start it until November 4th, the next available company training course. When I signed on October 8th I told the clerk this and that I would be signing off on Nov 3rd, now here's the rub - because I have found a job and will not be actively seeking work I am not entitled to any more JSA from the day I received the job offer!!!!!!!!! I had been warned that this may be the case and said I was still looking for temporary work until Nov 4th, that's OK then, sign here. We all know of professional benefit claimants, there's a few in every town, but I genuinely don't know how they get away with it, the disabled, unable to work etc, fine, but what about the fit and healthy ones who have never worked ? There were even alcoholics coming in to get their daily drink allowance!!!!!!! I am just pleased to be going back into work and away from the system, I was astounded by what I saw and how much it costs the taxpayer.
