Pity ebay sales aren't as binding as eBay like to think they are -- or you could find yourself with a years lease for a quid !!!!

Well -- apart from the migs -- between us HN03 and I are building a couple of buggies and 1 maybe 2 Dominoes, as well as stripping out the donors --- could do with that sort of space  ::)

IIRC if you purchase the right to a place of business like that, you become accountable for the entire contracted lease.

Which could be 25 years of £1000 a week expense...

I stand to be corrected.

Depends on what the sellers interest is and whether you'd be taking over his lease or if he is granting a new lease ( if he is the freeholder) or a sub-lease (if he is the head leaseholder).

He is purporting to sell a years lease only -- not the remaining term of any standing lease.

Lots of potential pitfalls -- but all depends on what is exactly on offer

If you are really considering it James you must get a solicitor to look after your interests. More expense I know, but could be a lot less expense in the future.

Repair work of any kind is where to be in a recession.

People hang on to stuff rather than chuck it and replace. I was reading that, in general, business such as cobblers have seen an upturn of business of 20 - 25% in recent weeks. I reckon now is the time to be running a repair garage.

Fairly central too. Have a look at the general OOF member distribution on the map.

I reckon you'd definitely need to generate a lot more than just OOF members though to keep it going and pay the staff etc.
