Not sure it makes much difference what sort of car you're in if a lorry hits you.
True. A mate of mine and his colleageue got hit by a lorry on the way to a meeting. Both killed, as were occupants in the car behind and the car in front. Motorway was blocked and the lorry driver was just daydreaming and piled stright in to the back of them.

He left his wife pregnant with their first child who never knew her father. Imagine what she through in the following months and years.
So much grief can be caused by an HGV when the driver isn't paying attention, and a lot of the foreign drivers you see on the road these days just couldn't give a break. Makes me think they should be reuired to drop their loads at the docks and get back on the boat.
I saw one a couple of months ago. Latvian registered truck on the M25 in Kent, realised at the last minute that he was in the wrong lane, indicated, waited a second or two and pulled out regardless of the mini that was to his right, and in front of me. Mini had nowhere to go. I'd already dropped back, fortunately, because all the mini could do was to put the brake pedal through the floor and hope he didn't clip the back end of the trailer.

That was very nearly carnage, I can tell you.
