Parked on pavements/dbl parked some even park under a speed camera on the main rd to the side of the school !! The lollipop lady cant hardly see round em to step out, think she gambles & sticks her lollipop out at 90 deg

There is a theory that fwd is safer than rwd , even though it may not handle as well ultimately.

I'm not sure I'd want my wife , or my kids whem they were learning,  in a rwd car , particularly a powerful one , especially on a wet road.

yeah but if you lift off in a fwd you get the traction and steering back again , without too much drama usually.
If you lift off after you've lost the rear end of a rwd car, all sorts of exciting things tend to happen , most of which involve facing the wrong way.
I'm not talking about drivers who know what to do in these situations , I'm talking about young/ inexperienced/crap ones !!

Not sure where you got the first bit from. If you overcook it in a FWD & lift off it will let go on you, you have to keep your nerve, foot down & full lock to pull the front in. Prefer RWD myself cos i'm an old fart.
   I've oval raced & bangered both so know what they're like beyond thier limits.

Like I said before , I'm talking about drivers who basically haven't got a clue . I reckon if the only cars you could buy were rwd cars , the roads would be a more dangerous place.

On the other point me and both my lads do autograss racing . The juniors race from 12 years old in minis only, because the powers that be reckon there's less chance of danger with grids of 10 heading for the first corner in fwd cars.

There are various other classes up to twin bike engined specials as you probably know , but I think in general the most spins and spectacular accidents are by the rear drive cars. When they let go at high speed even the experienced guys have a job catching them .

Just my opinion too, but I still wouldn't want a learner driver to be in a rwd car on a slippery road.
