The Americans spend 3 times the street value of the world's heroin crop each year on fighting trafficking of drugs into the US. Why don't they just buy the lot and burn it?

Personally I think they should legalise them all and then at least they could control quality, gain taxes and legislate.

Banning never works, it only forces it underground like pro-hibition caused speakeasys and dangerous moonshine. Banning boxing would cause organised street bare-knuckle brawling with illegal gambling and no doctors.

If we all started with a clean slate anyway and looked at it objectively and rationally, I reckon cannabis would make it to being socially acceptable long before tobacco or alcohol anyway. Coffee would even be on the list.

They are all drugs; when you look at it objectively it doesn't make sense really, what is illegal and legal is largely arbitary or the status quo is maintained for tax revenue purposes and industrialism weilding its political clout.

I fully agree & i've said for years that the government should supply the drugs, crime would go down by 99%. Clean needles supplied to the user's & given back when used & a clinic of sorts for thier use, so more cleaning up after them, no more kids picking them up & stabbing them selves (which has happened around here a few times).
Everthing supervized & if anything goes wrong then there's trained bods around to take care of it.
The problem is that the government (no matter who it is) have thier heads so far up their arses, they don't have a clue >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Failing that, just shoot em all & the government too :y
