Message box font size
« on: 24 October 2008, 14:35:52 »

The font size box ranges from 6 - 24 with a default of 11.

some people select 6 or 7 to type as a whisper, but this is unreadable on many monitors, 8 is just readable.

Can 6 & 7 be removed from the list leaving just the readable sizes?

Sure many people are fed up, or cant be bothered to hit quote to see what is being said in a readable size.

Surely that's the point of putting the type in 6 or 7. ;)  ;)  :y :y :y

if you just click "quote" on anyones message that uses 6 or 7 size, you'll see what it says!!

click quote on this post of mine for example and read the next line.....

then you should be able to read this

I think Jimbob's the only one so far fed up of clicking quote :D

after all, the small font is kind of simulating muttering under one's breath in the light-hearted manner in which it's used on here :D

correct, I like the idea of whispering...

But my point was more to do with using fonts so small they cant even be squinted at to be read.

Was thinking the main offenders thought they were actually readable, as they were on their own monitors, not taking others into account.

To clarify.....

I use several computers.....

I can use computers  ;) , and know the tricks to view small posts be it quote, or zooming.

My main computer, no issue at all, all readable,
on the laptop, size 6, on a white background, you cannot natively read.

Ive put a size test in the test zone for anyone to check with.

Mine cannot be the only one like this, so was trying to resolve a possible 'problem' for a subset of users.

That said, thanks for all the helpful tips ;)

My eyesight is spot on thank you!

on the 2 laptops, running at native resolution, no clear type!
first, cant read 6 on white, enough to make a guess
second cant read 6 on white or blue.
Main PC - read it all no problem.

It is obviously less of a problem than I thought, would have thought more users would have found the same  :-/
