Thanks Mark but it honestly wasn't a big deal!  Sounds like we both had a frustrating day today.  Came home without the Range Rover.., first time ever I've had to give up on a job.  Hopefully they will deliver it tomorrow.  Removing the old gear box proved impossible without a windy gun (plus 3 snapped manifold studs).

Out by 7am.., only just arrived back lol (20.30).  Now just gotta figure out how to cover gas costs lol.  Apparently they used old chip fat a lot to fuel the range rover, i dread to think what I'll find in the filter!

A friend of mine does this as long as they filtered it correctly it should be fine, also cheaper than LPG  if you are friendly with your local chippy/chinese :y

I am a bit confused ::) If this RR will run on chip oil and lpg is it a diesel running on lpg, or a petrol somehow running on chip oil.
Sorry if I have missed something obvious. :)

Ooops sorry some confusion on my part here.  They had another Range Rover that was a diesel and they ran it on used Chip Oil. I thought they ran this one on chip fat as well, Jue has now clarified lol.  Oh well, won't be visiting the local chinese takeaway tomorrow lol (and bulk ordering Oil filters lol).

Its a lovely Range Rover to be honest.  The leather seats are like those comfy but not at their best leather sofa's u sometimes see around (old ones, not new ones, they don't wear so well).  It needs a good clean up and minor restoration but will be a good runner and a very good work horse.  Can't wait to get working on it but gotta clean the Supermiggy first prior to putting it on ebay (takes time to clean those chrome wheels, a commodity we are permanently short of it seems lol).

Speaking of work horses, they only real problem that a scrubbing brush won't cure is the carpet.  They are multi horse owners and there's a bit of a pong and unmentionable stains on the carpets.  I'm gonna have a go at cleaning them but suspect they will need replacing.  Loads of parts on ebay for Classic RR's so suspect I am gonna have some fun restoring it.  Its in very good nick for its age tho (J reg).
